I USE AIR-DRIVEN HANDPIECES. WHY SWITCH?

I love my air-driven handpiece. Why would I consider electrics?

Because you want to maintain the quality of your work, but you want to help more patients. You can improve quality, or you can decrease time—you can’t do both. Unless of course, you adopt a technology that makes your job easier without sacrificing that quality.

After you deliver the best care you can, and you protect your patients and yourself the best you can, you want to streamline your business to maximize profits. Electric handpieces cover more procedures with less instrument, bottom line.

How noticeable is the difference…really?

You want to provide the best care available to your patients. Whether it is the whine, the chatter, or just the time spent on a procedure—you can eliminate virtually all of that from the patient experience. This will lead to more referrals when your patient hears the headaches described by friends or family, and respond by saying, “Not at my dentist!”

Air driven handpieces operate at decibel ranges identified of up to 100dB. The maximum allowable exposure to noise of this level by OSHA is 2 hours. Do you work 2 hours per day or less?

I’ve been thinking a lot about safety this year. Can electric handpieces offer any value there?

Where is your anti-retraction valve? Did you know that if you are using any handpiece other than Bien Air, the valve that prevents retraction of bodily fluid is not being sterilized? What if you asked your patient if they were OK sharing fluids with previous patients?
